How to Cantus?
A Cantus is an event during which members of the association sit at long tables, sing songs and drink (beer or lemonade) together. It is one of the oldest traditions in Dutch student culture, originally adopted from the Belgians. The members of the Cantus, the corona (no, not the disease), are instructed by the praesidium. The praesidium consists of the people who lead the Cantus and decide what to sing and when to enjoy a drink. Members of our praesidium will include board members from the time of the 11th Board.
Even though participating in a Cantus is lots of fun, we understand that some of our members may have some doubts about this event. That is why we will make our Cantus fun for everyone who would like to participate! Of course, almost all of the songs at our Cantus will be in English (contrary to most other Cantuses of other associations, where the songs are mostly Dutch). Furthermore, if you prefer not to drink beer, that is absolutely no problem. You can also participate in the Cantus and drink lemonade - it will be just as fun!
