SMOTMD: The Musicham!

Two months in, and we’ve been seeing some fresh and fun ideas at our Ockham drinks! Mathematicians line the circumference of the round table, sodas and beer in hand, keen on discussing the most logical topics (like embedded systems and judo). Philosophers flock together to the corner of the bar, bringing in a board game to the counter (seriously guys?), keen on discussing the least logical topics, like alibis and whether your entire world ends when someone hands you a gift in poor taste. Meanwhile, Processes of Change seems to have formed an (expensive) wine club, which obviously succeeds in reeling in some of the fancy fish from Entrepreneurship…

What of Shaping the Future?

With all the great ideas brewing in the bar, our future looks bright indeed! Upcoming November, the next SMOTMD theme will be a classic and beloved KaraOcke drink! The set-up will be optimal: enough microphones to fill the bar with your wonderful voice as you sing to your heart’s content, and enough liquid to keep your throat strong (soda, beer, wine, or otherwise, we cater to many different tastes).

The song list will range from well-known sing-alongs (ABBA I’m looking at you) to special singles (maybe we won’t know the song but we’re definitely going to cheer you on while you’re singing it!) As long as you’re brave enough to approach the karaOcke station and request a song, our list will grow, and the drink will be all the better for it! Otherwise, are you sure you can call yourself an Honours student? 

If that’s not enough, the board may also come with a little bit of a surprise. It will be colourful and sweet, like M&Ms. After all, Ockham is quite the musical group, with its own song and everything. It’s sure to be a night you’ll remember.
And even if you don’t - you just had to have too much fun, didn’t you? - the experience is sure to leave an impression on your memory, and there will always be the following SMOTMD ;)
