Activities for The Summer Holiday

The countdown to the holiday has officially started! Some people are already done, while some are still working hard. With all the free time that is around the corner, here are some workshops to do in Enschede during the summer. They are a good break and a fun social outing, you can do it alone or with friends. It is all fun!

• Lumina 

Lumina Enschede is a 360-degree digital artwork that you can experience in the Grote Kerk. You are in the middle of the stage, without being on stage. It is a 40-minute experience with music and lights. Instead of telling more, just go see for yourself. Ps, you can get a student discount through Huize Enschede.

• City walk

There is a lot of history in Enschede. Surely, you don’t know everything yet about this gorgeous city. You can take a longer walk around the city. You can find some Komoot walks online, or you can visit Tourist Info Twente, next to the Dille & Kamille in Enschede city, for some walks. Together with an ice cream stop or a geocaching, this is the ideal way to spend the afternoon. 

• Creative workshops

There are so many crafts to do, so there is no excuse but to get creative ;) You can make something at home, but there are also several places to do crafts in the city. Think of Skier Glas, where you can make stained glass, or Kaarsj.Es, where you can make your own dipping candles. And there are also many places to make a ceramic dish, think of Klei Klubb, Flair Maison and Biscuit. 

• Vijvervrijdagen

In Roombeek, behind the Museumfabriek, you can listen to live music almost every Friday in July. It is from 20:00-22:00 so with the sunset as background to add to the vibes.The programme is as follows: on the 3rd of July, Afslag Oele, and on the 10th of July, the Retro’s are playing. 

• Flea market 

A flea market of 3 kilometres long! That sounds like a thrifters dream. Go with some friends and find some new home decor or some fun clothes. It is the 18th and 19th of July from 9:00-16:00 at Vliegveld Twente. Entrance is 6 euros cash, but that is a steal for all the beautiful items you can score here.

• Escape Room

Whether you’d rather be stuck in time or stuck in LA, an escape room at café Friends has both these options, so you can test it yourself! Already played these? No worries, you can also go to Let’s Escape. You can play an indoor or outdoor escape game! If that is still not enough choice, you can go to Escape Room Delden, then you have a city trip and an escape room in one.
