March Past Activity

March SMOTMD

This month the theme of the SMOTMD was St. Patricks Day! While the attempt at having green beer may have not quite worked out, green was definitely the colour of this drink, and with a few leprechauns around it was a joyous evening to be sure!

Lunch Lecture “The Tale from the lab - What (not) to do in Research and Academia”

Dr. Max Friehs came by to talk about research, PhDs, and his journey, both the ups and downs and how he got through everything. An interesting insight into what a journey in academia can look like and what obstacles and experiences you might have.

Merch Journey

This month was also the month of merch! After designs were submitted for the competition at the SMOTMD the polls were opened and everyone could vote for their favourite designs. After one design finally came out on top, merch orders were opened up. Now it’s just waiting on the orders to arrive!

The Last Supper

The activity was named after a very famous meal, The Last Supper, though it is definitely not the last 'supper' to be organized by Ockham! Steaks and wine were served throughout the evening, which was filled with laughter and lively conversation. Later on, a few Master Honours students made their way to the party and joined the fun after their classes finished
